Artist's Comments

An unusual statue in a Dallas, TX cemetery. I think this is the same cemetery where Stevie Ray Vaughn is buried.

The realism of the carving is magnificent. How did you come across this statue? Were you startled by the life-like expression?

Sorry for the delay in response. When i travel i like to check out the local cemeteries. One of the times i was in Dallas i came across this little guy. The children's memorials always get me, they're too sad for any words to express.

Many new cemeteries sections now have specific areas set aside for children. But they tend to be scattered about in older cemetries. In the Juneau City Cemetery were these teeny-tiny obelisks to mark children's graves. But whichever way, children's graves are the saddest.
